My time at Abercombie helped me developed multiple skills, especially management, leadership, and training and developing skills. I was promoted to oversee Visual daily operations for Abercrombie & Fitch within a year at the company. I helped the team expand by hiring and training 30 additional associates, and in addition I was named as “Manager-in-training Trainer” for recognition of decisive leadership and ability to actively mentor, support and develop assistant managers of all in-store team.

One of the oldest agency, The Gate is a firm who strongly believes in “Slaying the Sacred Cows”, those cues, beliefs and actions we take because things have always been done that way. Many advertising and communications in a category are practically the same, one copying the other. Working at The Gate allowed me to think horizontally and vertically, differently, uniquely and each idea tailored to the specific client. Some of my responsibilities included category analysis, competitive reviews, and secondary research reviews.

A premier Taipei based public relations firm founded by entrepreneur Vic Wei and Yen Chen which specializes in Brand Marketing, Entertainment Marketing and Event Marketing. I mainly assisted with two major accounts: Taiwan Beverage Alcohol Forum, a non-profit organization and Burt’s Bees, personal care product company. I focused on developing presentations for the clients, monitoring press and media coverage, and assisted with Chinese-English translations.

Global Water Intelligence Magazine New York, New York

Data Specialist Research Intern June- August 2008

Global Water Intelligence is a british based magazine aiming to do two things for their readers: tell them where their next dollar is coming from by tracking major water projects around the world from conception to contract award, and discuss the emerging trends in the industry to help them formulate strategy in a rapidly changing world. For their United States Water and Wastewater infrastructure research project, chosen within a team of five, my responsibilities included collecting data, and in charge of finalizing and organizing the final report with information from more than 1000 utilities across the United States. The market research data is sold for $1800.

Grace Meng Campaign Office Flushing, New York

Campaign Volunteer Secretary June- August 2006

Grace Meng is a lawyer, a wife and a mother. She is also the youngest Asian-American ever elected to the New York State Legislature, and is currently the only Asian-American serving in the entire legislature. Some of my responsibilities while she was running for Assemblywoman included  auditing data for accuracy and completeness, coordinating distribution of literature and other advertisements, and monitoring and distributing workload assignments to other volunteers.
